DLAD Commitment Levels

To prepare and then to swing into action in the wake of any future disaster DLAD will require commitment.  

Levels of commitment will be the decision of each person and organization as their circumstances allow. This is all volunteer, all at will. It all depends on your desire and ability to contribute to your community each day.

Preparation

• Low
  • Support by sharing the DLAD page in your networks
• Medium
  • Lend your expertise to building the organization, the technology or trust before the next disaster.  This work starts now and will likely last until July 2024.
• High
  • Help lead the program
    • Join early and find your place leading the development of the idea, organization, and application.
    • Your ideas and energy are needed
    • DLAD Startup Team meeting will be in June 2023.  Contact us if you’d like to attend.

Help in the wake of disaster

• Volunteer as a data collector, analyst, governance leader, or ad hoc tech solutions team
• An understanding that the scale of disaster may call upon us to make significant time investments
• Hopefully, local employers (yours) may be willing to donate labor to support DLAD work in the days just after the disaster.  Check with your leadership to begin conversations around how able your organization will be to help when the need arises.
